Attendees: Andreas Dan Hrabri Peter Roger A. Meeting secretary for this meeting? Hrabri B. Acceptance of the Nov 28, 2006 meeting minutes Accepted, w/o changes. C. Admin - document status - no response yet - we will bug them after the meeting It is likely that the Language independent document is half way through the document process (up to 4 months). We will publish Java and C binding documents on the www.drmaa.org page and make a comment that they are likely final documents, maintaning ability to make changes at a later point. They would be sent to OGF steering committee after the main documents get adopted, since they could become official informal documents and out of synch with the later adopted (hopefully!) recommendation documents. F. Open/general issues discussion Introspection is a problem in the IDL specification, for example in languages like C++. It is OK to extend the API to get native facilities help address lack of exceptions and introspection. Non OO and non-introspective languages section is needed to address the above issues. It needs to be prominent in the document. Particular comments: Add sentence: The DRM missing states could be omitted from the implementation. Dan to word it and send to list. [done!] The state diagram needs to be included in the IDL doc. Hrabri to send the original image to Peter. There needs to be only one input/output/error streams. Page 11. Better elaborate multiple DRMS implementations in one library. Few spelling and format errors are also communicated to be fixed. Aborted in 8.18 need attention. 9.2 init could be not thread safe, but it does not make the implementation non threadsafe. In init the developers could cache return values from libc or similar system libraries non threadsafe calls. The team decided to keep replicated text sections, since it is easier to do modifications, but also to look into single entries in isolation. -Hrabri
