From: drmaa-wg-bounces@ogf.org on behalf of Roger Brobst [rogerb@cadence.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2007 11:42 AM To: drmaa-wg@ogf.org Subject: [DRMAA-WG] Meeting minutes Feb 06 2007 Attendees: Hrabri, Dan, Roger, Peter, and Andreas 1. Minutes taker: Roger 2. Minutes Jan 23rd: accepted 3. Document status: OGF "Status of Business" Document has favorable mention of DRMAA. 4. Open/general issues discussion * Discussed inconsistency in IDL spec with some exception names containing 'drm' whereas others indicate 'drms'. Determined inconsistency was inherited from other specs (e.g., errno's) and not worth addressing. * Rough consensus that Enumerations are an inappropriate mechanism to identify an attribute to the generic getter/setter methods, because they are not extensible for custom attributes. This does not preclude a language-specific mechanism to obtain a string for each of the required and optional attribute names. The IDL-spec should document the required and optional attribute names, but not specify a mechanism to obtain the string corresponding to a specific attribute. * The IDL-spec should discuss the issues to be considered for setting/getting job template attributes with respect to different programming language concepts (e.g., Object-Oriented with and w/o introspection) and the different attribute categories (e.g., required, optional, DRMS-specific). Peter & Dan to propose text. 5. Other topics * Discussed attendance at OGF-Manchester. None of call participants indicated plans to attend. -- drmaa-wg mailing list drmaa-wg@ogf.org http://www.ogf.org/mailman/listinfo/drmaa-wg
