2. Answering the public comments for the Python spec:
(p_v_zoolingen) Question 1: This relates to self-expressiveness of a written DRMAA program vs. short commands for interactive DRMAA usage. Since we want to concentrate on the first issue, the proposed modification is accepted. Question 2: Since function renaming already happened in the Java binding, it seems to be an acceptable step. We will change it to "initialize", in order to keep some similarity to the original name. Question 3: Same argumentation as for question 1, therefore rejected. Question 4: Rejected, since the discussed parameters are not intended to be set by the application. Question 5: This is an implementation-specific decision, and should not be mandated by an API spec. (kielmann) DRMAA group decided a long time ago to publish IDL-spec derived language bindings as informational document. Reasons are the provided amount of new knowledge (it's only a syntactical mapping) and standardization duration. The programming example is a good idea, we will add this. The reality check was already done by the existing (non-standardized) Python DRMAA wrapper from Enrico. He already modified his implementation according to the new document. Last conf. call for this year will take place on Dec. 16th. Best regards Peter.
