Minutes of 2007-07-18 meeting
DFDL WG teleconference 2007-07-18
Attendees: Mike Beckerle, Geoff Judd, Simon Parker
We reviewed Simon's comments on Draft v019. We got through only a few of
course.
sp 15 - we recommend globally that the property name "repType" be changed
to "representation"
sp 18, 19 - Original assertion annotation syntax was based on schematron.
We recommend departing from the schematron precedent and making the
assertion syntax like so:
Attended: Mike Beckerle, Geoff Judd, Alan Powell, Simon Parker Continued review of Simon Parker's comments on draft 019. Resolved a few. General principle is to be conservative, things that we can liberalize later if needed we will choose to be more restrictive about in v1.0. sp25 - hidden. Keep as just elements. (Conservative) sp28 - leave out multivalued for now. (Conservative) sp32 - change to just refer to XPath 2.0 definition of effective boolean value. sp33 - as early as possible. (Conservative) , i.e., when scope where property is bound is entered is when expressions are evaluated. sp35& sp36 - remove this sectino (it's an artifact of layering that was removed from v1.0) Action Item: Alan Powell and Goeff Judd - regexp - revisit swift need for regexp in IBM mrm parser. Contrast with TX speculative approach. Report back. Additional point - certain properties may be regular expressions (escape syntax TBD) - we concluded that this really is needed. Case sensitive and insensitive, various line endings tolerated. sp37 - conservative choice: require {} around expressions in all contexts.
Agenda Continued walk through of Simon's review comments. Good afternoon. I'm afraid I must leave work early today, and can't attend the conference. I mustered a little time, however, and finally posted the promised proposal on 'dfdl:require' on the wiki http://forge.ggf.org/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.dfdl-wg/wiki/Require Feel free to continue the review, of course, if my unsupported comments communicate clearly enough. Sorry about the short notice, Simon ________________________________ From: dfdl-wg-bounces@ogf.org [mailto:dfdl-wg-bounces@ogf.org] On Behalf Of Mike Beckerle Sent: 08 August 2007 15:03 To: dfdl-wg@ogf.org Subject: [DFDL-WG] Call Today Agenda Continued walk through of Simon's review comments.
