1.1. textBiDiTextType. I am ok
with 'left' & 'right'. It's unambiguous. If you drop the terms, then
the enums for textBiDiOrientation would have to change (and I think these
came from OMG CAM model?)
1.1. textBiDiTextShape.
>From reading the referenced primer, whether the character includes shape
is encoding dependent. If when unparsing the output is in an encoding
that does not include the shape then the assumption has to be that shape
is added by the presentation layer. So do we need the property?
1.1. textBiDiNumeralShapes. Again
do we need this? Presumably the Hindi numbers have different Unicode code
points anyway, so round tripping is preserved.
1.2.1. I'm not sure we should
be referring to DFDL properties in the infoset definition.
It would be interesting to know which
of these properties have been added to IBM WTX 8.2. But we should also
bear in mind that a WTX map receives the physical data in the native encoding,
and not a logical equivalent.

Attached is a proposal for support for
bidirectional script in DFDL
The support for bi-directional data consists
of
1. Additional
DFDL properties to describe bidirectional data in instance documents
2. The bi-directional
characteristics of string information items in the infoset
3. The ability
to enter bidirectional strings in a DFDL schema
