The dfdl:escapeSchemeRef, dfdl:textNumberFormatRef, dfdl:textCalendarFormatRef provide a default reference to a dfdl:defineEscapeScheme, dfdl:defineTextNumberFormat and dfdl:defineTextCalendarFormat respectively. The properties of dfdl:escapeScheme, dfdl:textNumberFormat and dfdl:TextCalendarFormat are not defaulted individually.
Alan - this is somewhat confusing.. The value of dfdl:textNumberFormatRef contains a QName to dfdl: textNumberFormat.. What does the default reference mean in this context ?? The main update is to change the emphasis from scoping annotations to scoping 'representation properties'.
