You should check with the OGF editor. There is a process whereby minor errata can be corrected in published documents. I don't know whether this would count as merely "errata"; it might be a v1.1. WS-DAI specification namespaces?

Hi, We are working for another WS-DAI realization for RDF and we started to define the namespaces for our RDF(S) based on the WS-DAI core model. Current our namespace definition will be as followis http://www.ogf.org/dais/2007/10/ws-dai-rdfs/query This notation is based on GFD.84. However, in WS-DAI specifications, the namespaces are described as http://www.ggf.org/namespaces/2005/01/WS-DAI/ www.ggf.org is ok in GFD84 but /namespaces/ should be equal as the project name , i.e. /dais/ The reason is that WS-DAIs(GFD74,75,76) are submitted earlier than GFD84. However, JSDL(GFD56) in 2005 already has GFD84 style namespace format. Have you already noticed this? We think that we had better to modify them to fit GFD84 if we havethe chance to modify them until the final standards. Regards. Isao

DAIS working group chair vacancy

All, I am standing down as co-chair of the DAIS working group because a change in my role at Oracle has made it increasingly difficult to attend OGF meetings and to dedicate time to DAIS activities. I believe the group has made an important contribution to the development of Grid standards since its formation more than four years ago and this was particularly the case when Norman Paton was my co-chair. I'd like to thank everyone who has participated to the work of the group for their efforts in developing the initial set of DAIS specifications. The current initiative is to extend the core specification to include an RDF(S) realisation and I believe this is an important piece of work in evolving intelligent access, consumption and management of all types of Grid resource. OGF working groups are encouraged to have two co-chairs so this is an opportunity for everyone interested to put their name forward. I'll be happy to provide more information on the role. [Dave] To email the WG to say he is stepping down as chair. o OGF21 Neither Mario and Dave will be able to attend OGF21. Said and Isao will be there. it appears that Miguel will be there as well. A DAIS session has been booked. There has not been much contact between Spain and Japan. Progress at AIST - most completed the specification. Have downloaded the new version of documents at the end of August. Have produced a summarised version of the scenarios document. No new issues have been found since the last OGF meeting. AIST waiting to see if they can get a common ontology with the Spanish group or whether to proceed by themselves. Dave attended a semantic tech conference in Vienna at the beginning of June and talked about the group and has talked to other people - difficult to get people involved. Have an early implementation based on OGSA-DAI but do not have many users as yet. Would be important to get the Spanish and the AIST version of the documents consistent. Dave will email Miguel to tell him that the AIST work is almost complete and it is important for the two pieces of work are consistent and ask him if he's going to OGF21 (found out from MSN later that Miguel would be at OGF21). AIST want to publish their work as early as possible, possibly February next year. The final decision will be made based on what the Spanish group. Dave's Oracle work has changed and has not had enough time to provide the necessary leadership. Dave feels he needs to step down from the chair position. Mario is willing to step up but not acting as the single chair. Isao is also willing to act as chair for this session. Dave Pearson will email the group to state that he will be stepping down as chair and see if anyone is willing to step-up. OGSA-DAI workshop at OGF21

Hi, Apologies if you receive this multiple time. This originates from Richard Sinnott the OGSA-DAI User Group chair. ................. Dear All, I am putting a workshop at OGF21 together which you may wish to attend. The basic idea is to consider the complete spectrum of data work across OGF, from the higher level vision being defined by the OGSA data architecture group; the data standards being produced such as DAIS and ByteIO; the technologies realising these standards such as OGSA-DAIv3 and then to the end user developers trying to building applications with these technologies. Think of it as microcosm of OGF as a whole. This workshop will take place at OGF21 in the Leonesa-1 room on Tuesday from 3-4.30pm. DAIS for RDF(S)

Dear DAIS-WG/Semantic Grid-RG people, In OGF DAIS Working Group, we are working for RDF realization for the WS-DAI standard specification family. WS-DAI has already be extended for Relational and XML databases (WS-DAIR, DAIX). Our activity is to extend WS-DAI for RDF(S) databases (WS-DAI-RDF(S)) so that the databases can be accessed by using the W3C standard RDF query language SPARQL from within the Grid. In order to promote this activity, we have created the attached (short) executive summary with some use cases. The document can also be downloaded from the gridforge of DAIS-WG. Please have a look and kindly circulate it. If you are interested and want to join in this activity, you are most welcomed.
