This may ultimately come through twice sorry, with different subject lines - the first forward attempt made has not yet come through, so this time I've changed the subject, removed the tor talk subject prefix and indented the email as you see below. That's anyway an effective way to create an faux "arms-length" appearance - fund a particular study (e.g. HS identification), and subsequently serve a court ordered subpoena upon the university study once it's clear they have data you can use (for parallel construction or otherwise). Can such faux arms-length "plausible deniability" on the part of the university, be restructured into a process that is subpoena proof?

The government argued that this did not violate the citizens' Fifth Amendment protection against self incrimination because no actual passcode was handed over to authorities... "I was frankly a bit shocked," said Andrew Crocker, a staff attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, when he learned about the scope of search warrant. "As far as I know, this warrant application was unprecedented"... He also described requiring phones to be unlocked via fingerprint, which does not technically count as handing over a self-incriminating password, as a "clever end-run" around constitutional rights.

Lucas123 writes: Armatix LLC's new iP9 smart gun will go on sale in the U.S. in mid-2017 and...will have a fingerprint reader that can store multiple scans like a smartphone. The iP9 is expected to retail for about $1,365, which is more than twice the price of many conventional 9mm semi-automatic pistols... The company's previous product was a smart gun which only fired when it was within 10 inches of radio waves emanating from its owner's watch, but they had trouble attracting buyers. Armatix now also hopes to interest shooting ranges in a gun which only fires when its built-in RFID system recognizes that it's pointing at a shooting target.

Using Freenet anonymously via Tor

I've posted a how-to guide for using Freenet anonymously via Tor, with full opennet connectivity, at <http://dbshmc5frbchaum2.onion/Freenet-OnionCat.html>. Basically, the Freenet node is a VM with no public IP address. It reaches opennet peers through a clearnet proxy VPS, linked via Tor/OnionCat. It can also reach peers directly at OnionCat IPv6 addresses.
