Hi, Please find attached meeting minutes. > 1. Demo by Stuart Stuart went over what he will demonstrate at the GGF. Bare metal deployment of a box using RDP server, then using service session, resource creation of a desktop. Secondary demo is deployment of Apache Web server and an app. They went into a problem with .NET 2 and are downgrading to .NET 1.x. > 2. Demo by Jun Jun went over the trace of his demo, which was posted shortly before the meeting. He invited comments about the potential problems,. He also introduced a colleague who was working on the CDDLM Deployment APIs Steve has been working on the deployment API and will demonstrate deployment using SOAP and Axis. CDDLM - ACS - EMS Interactions

Sorry for the time it took to build all of this. I have built three scenarios to discuss the possible interactions between CDDLM, ACS and the remainder of the core. Each scenario has two assets, a sequence diagram and a block diagram of the OGSA architecture adapted from the base EMS diagram. Additionally, I have attached the CDDLM/ACS interaction proposal created by the ACS team at GGF 14. In the first scenario, CDDLM draws directly from the repository as shown in the ACS diagrams and the model used in the original EMS Scenario #3. In the second scenario, CDDLM uses OGSA Data Services as a conduit to access the ACS repository (knowing that the data services architecture is in progress). In the final scenario, I propose splitting CDDLM from knowledge of the repository by using the OGSA services as intermediary. The CDDLM architecture was designed to allow remote files to be added to it for local deployments. It was not originally presumed that we would be drawing from a remote repository using an undefined protocol. See everyone tonight, Stuart

Dear CDDLM team and Hiro, Please find the attached draft of CDL spec, which has been revised based on Hiro's comments. I am sorry for taking this long time for revision. The attached PowerPoint file gives highlights on this revision. In addition to incorporating Hiro's comments, I added description that clarifies the CDL's behavior when properties are duplicated (i.e., there are multiple properties with the same name in the same property list). Since the Component Model uses duplicate properties, we had a discussion on the clarification several months ago. I took this opportunity of revision to incorporate that discussion. Hi, Instead, I recommend that we have our regular Wednesday meeting next week and plan on being on time and concise enough to have all three demos (presumably Jun and Steve will also present). We should also allow for some time slippage, if we can not fit it all within an hour. It may happen that some of the OGSA members will decide to attend. I will make such an announcement at the OGSA mailing list shortly. Please react promptly if you have any issue with this! I would also urge all CDDLM members to attend the next OGSA meeting on Wednesday at 3-5pm PST. Ayla will present her demo and OGSA members will likely ask a lot of questions. (If we decide that it makes sense, we can possibly also repeat some of the other demos, although Ayla's demo has strongest message given that it is independent - she did not participate in the spec development). At the same meeting, it is expected that Stuart presents updated graphs of how CDDLM interacts with some of the other groups (at least this is the high level intention). Create <hostname>invalid-hostname</hostname>

What are people doing in their create request if the hostname supplied is invalid? I say in the specs that it is just a hint, but what if the user asks for a host that isnt there? Ignore it, or return an error? What have other people done? -Steve

Faults

I am deep in the wonderful depths of SOAPFaults, as I write my unit tests. 1. The sourceforge repository now has a FaultTemplateClass, wrapping the code,qname & error texts for a fault; one of these templates is created for every fault in our constants.xml template. This is to make it easier to generate full faults, and for test code to verify what they got back. 2. I'm somewhat underwhelmed with Axis2's fault handling right now, but it is too late to fix it, so faults will be a bit sparse at GGF15 3. Flushing out our fault list -informatively- is something we need to do. Either it is something we can start discussing at GGF15, or we can work on it later. Before anyone tries to write a client or unit test that interoperate with multiple servers, we really need to get our faulting stabilised. -steve
