The Community Track Sessions at GridWorld will offer a series of 30-90 minute invited talks and panels on the current and future status of Grids in different sectors of education, research (e.g., Astronomy) and industry (e.g, Telecommunications), as well as half and full-day research workshops and tutorials.  
This "community track" seeks to build new and strengthen existing communities of interest in GGF. Both new and existing communities are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentation in these community track sessions.  GridWorld attendees will gain unique insights from applications and technology experts discussing innovative approaches to deploying and using grids. 

The community activities described below may run in parallel with other GridWorld activities but every attempt will be made in scheduling to minimize unnecessary clashes.


Individual Sessions--
Presentation proposals may be submitted for individual time slots of thirty minutes, one hour or ninety minutes in length. Please be sure to allow ten minutes for Q&A within this allotted time.  Individual presentations of less than ninety minutes will be grouped with similar topic presentations to fill an entire session. The submission must state the preferred duration of the presentation. 

Panels--
These sessions will enable conference attendees to learn from a group of experts on a particular topic. The session organizer may deliver an opening talk to set the context for the remainder of the session. Panelists will then give presentations designed to stimulate audience participation, on their preferably diverse opinions, experiences or expertise regarding the theme of the session. At least ten minutes should be reserved at the end for questions from the audience.
   

Community Workshops--
Proposals may be submitted for half- or full-day topical workshops to foster research in different research areas or projects of interest to GGF. Workshops can be grouped in any of the following ways:

-Invited Presentations Workshop:  A series of invited talks focused on a specific theme.  Speakers in Invited Presentation workshops are encouraged to prepare a paper, which will be controlled by the respective workshop committee and published as a GGF informational document. 

-Refereed Workshop:  A series of papers on a focused theme of interest to GGF.  Selected contributions would be presented at the workshop and the proceedings would be published under the GGF banner, as a GGF document or some other.  Special Issues of Journals will be considered as a venue for the publication.

-Common Interest Workshop: A focused study of a particular problem by a group of GridWorld participants.  The outcome of the workshop would be published as a special report to GGF as part of the standard document series.  The group that proposes such a workshop would be responsible for delivery of the document before February, 2006.


Tutorials--
GridWorld will offer hands-on learning experiences for an audience that ranges from novices to managers to experts.  Priority will be given to tutorials that are of interest to the larger Grid community and are consistent with the GridWorld theme of Grid exploration and adoption.

The Community Council is also inviting your feedback and suggestions on the choice of topic areas for GridWorld Community Program Track Sessions. Your views, suggestions and needs will guide the Community Council to design a Community track program more responsive to the Grid community needs.
